Reduce costs of parts that comply with standards regulations
A mass production system implemented at a smartphone production factory has hundreds or even thousands of the same machine tools installed to be able to ship large amount of products in a short period right before a new product is released to the market. However, because a new smartphone is released approximately every year, a new machine tool must be purchased if the existing machine tool cannot be used for the new product due to a model change.

To reduce the unit price of machine tools, smartphone manufacturers also request for machine tool manufacturers to reduce costs. Although many machine tool manufacturers try to review the parts they are using to curtail costs, there may be cases where alternative parts that comply with safety and standards regulations are not available, resulting in continued use of the high-cost parts.
