The SA2E-EX series of miniature photoelectric sensors combines compact design with precise detection and environmental resistance.

Made for use in tight spaces
SA2E-EX sensors are less than 4cm tall and less than 2cm wide. They easily fit into tricky installation spaces, close to filling machines and workpiece conveyors.

Reliable under tough conditions
In hot production facilities or cold storage, the SA2E-EX remains accurate and consistent. This environmental resilience widens the sensor’s potential applications, including outdoor use (e.g., elevators).

Accurate detection of fast-moving objects
The sensor can quickly, continuously detect individual small workpieces and other objects moving at high speeds. Variations with a reduced light beam diameter offer higher detection position accuracy.

Sensor barrier integration for safe operation
Be sure to use SA2E-EX sensors in explosion-proof areas, with the EB3S sensor barrier. Using SA2E-EX in combination with EB3S ensures full suitability for installation in hazardous areas. This product pairing enhances both safety and peace of mind.
(Please note that the SA2E-EX is not compatible with other barrier types, and that using the sensor without a barrier may not meet requirements for hazardous areas.)

Optional air purge unit, ideal in dusty environments
The air purge unit supports the sensor in maintaining reliable performance by blowing air over the lens to keep the detection surface clean.
